Terms & conditions
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms govern your use of MiniParty — the website, and any booking made through it. By making or accepting a booking you agree to them. Please read the cancellation & refund policy too; it forms part of these terms.
1. Who we are, and what we do
MiniParty is an online marketplace for small, time-bound party spaces — a decorated room for two hours, a café corner for a birthday, a rooftop slot for an anniversary. We are an intermediary: the space itself is owned and run by an independent host, not by us. We list it, take the booking and collect a booking fee online, on top of the price; you pay the full price to the host directly, at the venue.
The host is responsible for the venue, its condition, its safety and anything they promise in the listing. We are responsible for the platform, the payment flow, and the support desk that stands behind both.
2. Accounts
You need an account to book. You must give accurate details — the phone number and email you register are how we and your host reach you about the booking, so a wrong one is a booking we cannot deliver. Keep your password to yourself; activity under your account is treated as yours.
You must be old enough to enter a contract under Indian law to make a booking. Hosts must be legally entitled to offer the space they list.
3. How a booking works
A booking moves through defined steps, and you can see which one you are at any time:
- You choose a slot — a date, a start time and a duration at a specific venue, plus any add-ons such as decoration or cake. The order value shown is the full price of everything you booked.
- You pay the booking fee — a flat ₹5, online, on top of the order. The slot is held for you while you pay; if payment is not completed within the hold window, the slot is released and can be booked by somebody else.
- The host confirms, within 24 hours. If they decline, or do not respond in time, the booking is cancelled automatically and your booking fee is returned, minus the payment gateway's charge on it (see section 5).
- You celebrate, and pay the host. The venue address and the host's contact details become visible on your booking once it is confirmed. You pay the full order value to the host at the venue.
- The booking completes after the slot ends.
Slots cannot be booked less than 2 hours before they start, and all times shown for a venue are that venue's local time.
4. Prices, fees and payment
Prices are set by the host and shown in Indian rupees. The order value you see before booking is the venue's full charge: the slot, any weekend surcharge and any add-ons you selected. You pay it in full to the host, and our booking fee on top, plus any applicable tax. There are no charges added later by us.
- The booking fee — a flat ₹5whatever the order value, charged on top of the order and taken online at the time of booking through our payment gateway. It confirms the booking and is our only fee. Any applicable tax is collected with it, and a coupon comes off it.
- The order value — paid in full by you directly to the host at the venue, in cash or UPI. We do not collect or hold it, and we take no cut from it.
We do not store your card, UPI or banking credentials — those stay with the gateway. A full breakdown of every component is on our pricing page.
Anything you agree with the host directly and pay for on the day — extra hours, extra food, damage charges — is between you and the host, and is outside these terms.
5. Cancellations and refunds
If a host declines or fails to respond, or a host or we cancel a booking, your whole booking fee is refunded. If you cancel before the host confirms, it is refunded minus the payment gateway's charge on it — about 2.36% of the fee, which our payment gateway (Razorpay) keeps on every payment and does not return on a refund. We keep nothing else. If you cancel after the host has confirmed, the booking fee is not refunded, and you don't owe the rest of the order value.
An advance is paid to the host directly, not to MiniParty. The host must return all of it within 3 days if they decline or don't confirm in time, if the host or MiniParty cancels the booking, or if you cancel before the host confirms. If you cancel after the host confirms, the venue's cancellation policy (shown on its page) decides how much of the advance comes back. You never owe the rest of the order value on a cancelled booking. If a host doesn't return an advance they owe, report it from your booking. MiniParty never receives or holds an advance, so it cannot refund one itself; it takes up a report with the host and may remove a host who keeps an advance they owe.
Bookings paid in full online before the booking fee was introduced keep the venue cancellation policy that was captured on them when they were made.
The complete rules, worked examples and refund timelines are in the cancellation & refund policy.
6. Your responsibilities as a guest
Treat the space as you would someone's home, because usually it is someone's livelihood. Stay within the guest count and the hours you booked, follow the house rules on the listing, and leave on time — the next booking may start soon after yours.
You are responsible for damage caused by you or your guests. Illegal activity, and any behaviour that endangers people or property, ends the booking immediately with no refund.
7. Your responsibilities as a host
List the space honestly: real photos, accurate capacity, working amenities, a correct address. Respond to booking requests within 24 hours. Have the space ready, clean and as described when the guest arrives, and honour every confirmed booking — a cancellation by a host at short notice is the single worst experience on a marketplace like this one.
You are responsible for your own licences, permissions, taxes and insurance, and for the safety of the space. We check a trade licence or shop & establishment registration for every venue, and an FSSAI licence where food is served, before it goes live.
You collect the full order value shown on the booking from the guest at the venue — we take no cut from it; do not ask for more than that for what was booked. We never hold money on your behalf and make no payouts, so we do not ask for your bank details.
8. Content you post
Photos, descriptions and reviews you upload remain yours, but you give us permission to display and promote them on the platform. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use. We may remove content that is misleading, unlawful or abusive, and we may remove a listing or suspend an account that repeatedly breaks these terms.
Reviews may be left only by guests who actually completed a booking, and must describe their own experience.
9. Liability
We facilitate the booking; the host provides the space. We are not liable for the condition of a venue, for anything that happens during your event, or for a host's acts or omissions. Where we are liable to you, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking in question.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
10. Disputes
Tell us first. Most problems — a venue that was not as described, a refund that has not arrived, a host who did not turn up — are resolved by our support desk within days. Raise a ticket from the contact page and you will get a ticket number and a written answer.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and the terms that apply to a booking are the ones published when you made it.
